Re: Darlington V Southport

From the tinshed, the penalty incident looked like a definite penalty and there didn't seem many grumbles from the Southport players, which indicated that it was a clear cut penalty. Not the ideal view from the Tin Shed where I was, but it seemed like the defender was bamboozled enough to stick his...

Re: The pride of county Durham

Spenny storing up problems due to missing these early home games. Now losing points as they are less matchfit than opponents and in future will face a backlog of home games. Good job they have a massive squad & don't rely on gate receipts to pay the wage bill!

Re: Darlington V Southport

Another good win against a very big & capable team through everyone playing their role & 100% effort. Took early chance well & converted the penalty won by skillfully running into the box with the ball. Great first half where we outplayed them thru attractive football, so that Southport put all 3 su...

Re: The Areana

All a club wants at national league or north/south level is a ground like afc telfords. Went there last Saturday, nice terrace behind goal and you could have a pint during the game providing it was drank on the terrace behind the dugouts. That bar been open throughout the game must bring a bit coin...

Re: New Striker

I understand we have O'Neill until the end of December, which is a bit different to the handful of matches that we had Nelson for. You are right about Nelson, but he was also a bit more mature and had some pedigree so we were a shop window for the lad. If O'Neill wins us the same amount of points a...

Re: New Striker

O'Neill has made an impact and is an asset to the team. Yes, he is still learning his trade & not the finished product, but biggest problem is that he is only here on loan. OK, this gives AA a bit more time to find a CF but in the long run, more disruption & uncertainty when his loan runs out as per...

Thommo's factory where he works is on shutdown so they are all on holiday.

Looking at tonight's results, we could be in for a serious test as Southport won 3-0 at Farsley.

If they continue to miss their obligations in terms of fulfilling the contract to provide facilities, then the rent should be either stopped or reduced after giving them written notice of all the issues.

Re: Curzon Ashton v Darlo

Sure we missed good chances and had no luck .... Thommo and O’Neill off the line come to mind. It’s not all that bad. Cut out the errors and and we’ll be more than fine. It may be that we need to ditch the number 10 and bring in a third central midfielder who bombs forward. Then we can have a sitte...

Re: The Areana

We would have to be in a dire situation, eg facing groundshare with Pools or Spenny, before I would consider this a viable option. Best case scenario would be a totally new & smaller 5000 capacity stadium constructed as part of the Sporting Village, either alongside the Arena or Blackwell Meadows. C...

Re: Darlington V Kettering

Timing of the goals could not have been better. Nice early goal in first half, then a peach from Rivers straight after the restart. Lads had settled in and played with confidence despite the gusty wind, neglected looking pitch and another inconsistent ref. All the team pressed Kettering and midfield...

Re: Saturday

I’d go with Elliot, Holliday, Liddle, Laing, Heaton, Bascome, Hatfield, Thommo, Donawa, O’Neill and Campbell. AA will go with Elliot, Liddle, Watson, Galbraith, Laing, Hatfield, Bascome, Rivers, Thommo, O’Neill and Campbell Think we need to swap Omar out although I really like him, he is too simila...

Re: Trotman out for the season

How did this injury happen? Near the end of the game, close to the dugouts, Trots was stretching to keep the ball in play to maintain possession & the pressure on them. He did this but was clattered from behind as he turned (as had happened multiple times during the game and Gateshead unpenalised)....

Any chance of converting Heaton into a CF, along the lines of Crouch or Beck? Our forwards looked like midgets compared to the defences of Farsley & Gateshead. May help give us some alternatives up front!

Re: Gateshead game...

Only to be expected that at this stage of the season, several areas need improvement from distribution by GK to the announcements over the PA and control of the car park. First half we were woeful, giving the ball away far too easily, causing problems at the back where people were caught out of posi...

Thanks Kev for all the time, effort & expense you are giving on behalf of the club. League must be shaken out of their complacency for the good of all the clubs at our level & below, if not non-league football itself. I would be happy to contribute to a fund to cover improvements and expenses. Sever...

Good news, up to a point (in December) and hopefully he can lead the line as well as Andrew Nelson did for a short time last season. Only trouble was that team performance suffered when he left. Would have been good to get a permanent signing done, but at least AA is getting time to bring in his own...

I'd heard that the pitch just needs a good shower on it and it'll play fine. Surely it is a landlord's responsibility to maintain their property and if this is not happening in the case of the pitch, then they are in breach of their contract and liable for damage / losses incurred?

I see that they have already had one preseason friendly in which Cartman scored a hat trick. I wonder if Campbell has ever heard of a hat trick.
