Re: Solihull Moors Away - FA Trophy 1st Rnd

Cold, damp & blustery weather forecast. Hope that is enough to put Moors out of their stride. Perhaps Thommo can stick in that 100th goal and we can cause an upset?

Re: Darlington v Chester

Nice touch to see recognition on the club website of Dave Purdie's role in sorting out the floodlight problems. Also quick thinking by Craig Morley in realising there was a fully qualified electrician in hospitality. DP almost as responsible for the win as Holness & Donawa!

Re: Sweet Caroline

 Ha ha, brilliant! You would think that with all the wind up merchants at the rugby club, the clock would be spot on. If the thing was stopped, it would be right once every 12 hours.

 Looking back to when we were at the Arena, the anthem must have been John Cage's 4 minutes 33 seconds. The silence from the empty stand was deafening.

Re: Darlington v Chester

Well, you had to be there to believe that game. Gutsy performance all round despite missing key players & thanks to 2 chances taken well. Chester were a good footballing team & we matched them in nearly every department. Thought we were going to lose the points as the lights failed repeatedly, then ...

Could it be the owner thought he was buying into the rag trade when he bought The Silkmen & was stunned to find himself involved with a football club?

We need to get a decent run going as sub 1100 attendance will no don’t make finances difficult.
Think this needs some editing. That's the trouble with very early morning posts.

Re: Leamington (A)

Would love to think we could keep a clean sheet as they are all tough games with this over-stretched squad, but could be a chance for the youngsters to get some game time in a first team shirt. The suggested team above is about the strongest we can start with, given current circumstances. Would hope...

Come on Ghost, you've missed a trick there. Clearly his fantasy chippy has a massive car park next to it which he rents out to make his mega money. He makes next to nothing from the chippy itself.

Re: Solihull Moors Away - FA Trophy 1st Rnd

Tough one for Quakers to win, but there are a lot of exiles in the Midlands who would be happy to go & get behind them. Solihull may be happy to stick a few of their younger players in, as with such a big squad, just to keep them interested so we may have a better chance if they do.

If O'Neill isn't getting at least a place on the bench, then I can't understand why Woodgate would not loan him again to us as he was making great progress & fitted in well with our team.

Yep, partly the cost of personal liability & also whether an individual player should have their own cover. Do I now need my own insurance for a kick about on Sunday in the park? Hope we, as a club, check out whether we have enough cover to ensure what happened to Ossett doesn't happen here. Compens...

Re: Threat to Ossett United & football itself

Ossett took out the insurance cover as recommended, but the costs of player-on-player liability was for them prohibitive. The precedent for me, was that Ossett United may be forced to sell their ground and potential bankruptcy (I know Swansea City are still around and that other damages had been awa...

Threat to Ossett United & football itself

Surprised there has been no comment on the forum about the recent legal case against Ossett which could become a precedent and threat to grass roots football. The club had taken out insurance which included liability cover as recommended by NPL, however a court ruled this did not apply to damages ca...

Re: BT Sport coverage Darlo vs. Walsall

Thought they said it just about right all night. Virgo is of course long term none league so he knows what he is talking about. The 1 thing I would query, and it has been said on here as well, was that we ran out of legs towards the end. I thought we more ran out of idea's when we got 30 yards out....

For me Hatfield was MOTM ahead of Thommo. Fitness told in the end & lack of options on the bench also came home to roost. Agreed. If we could only clone Will & have them on the bench... Stage was set for Thommo to step up & break the 100 goals mark in front of the TV cameras, but he just did not ge...

Security were 100% ineffective, letting people stand in prohibited area in front of Tin Shed, stood by when people vaped 2 yards away & still some wassocks threw flares before and after the game. Just reinforced the point that BM is not equipped for giving a good view if there are more than 2000 att...

Lads did themselves proud, but effort alone not enough & we did not have players on the bench who could alter the game. Really needed someone to lead the line & hold up the ball.
