Re: Player of the month

Congratulations to Liam Hughes! Well done in carving out a new niche in the team. It shows all Darlo players, that they can go from villain to hero in a very short period. Well done Liam. It also shows there are plenty of fans ready to pass judgement on players before theyve had a chance to settle ...

Re: Darlington v Stockport

Puzzles me how they make training twice a week liveing so far away Well, they finish work around 3pm, meet up to car share (I hope, as we're probably paying their travel) get on the road for 4, by the time they meet and get out of Birmingham, and drive for around 3 hours on a very good day, 4 more ...

Re: Darlington v Bradford (Park Avenue)

as much as my opinions worth its 4-5-1 all day for me. Not exactly radical but solid .More adventurous formations - ESPECIALLY when we are without Wheatley - always seem destined to end in tears.

But howay lads/ - Thommo at wing back? Ainge in midfield?

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....

thought the F.A set the price for cup ties? isnt that why some of the Northern League teams charge more for the preliminary rounds than league games?

Re: Darlington V Alfreton Match Thread

Yep, I don’t think DJ would make any rash decisions either - as a club we need stability. TW deserves a fair few more games yet IMO, we’re not even in a position to even consider replacing TW so early in the season because things aren’t going our way. I still think there’s a lot more to come from t...

Re: TW tactics......again!

No I haven't. However, you would think that there would be a pecking order to his selection of youth players rather than just plucking anyone to place on the bench. Glover for example has come on a few times and I think started a couple of matches last season, he has been held in high regard by TW ...

Re: Martin Gray sacked by York

I wasn't that bothered about his lack of praising the fans when he left. What got me was his insults in the Chorley programme notes just before the YCFC trust vote. He urged people to vote for McGill or York would turn into another Darlington with a 'fan-owned, bucket-rattling mentality'. Then when...

Re: Fixture Release

Leagues further down the pyramid (like the Wearside) who have teams without floodlights traditionally have a heavy August schedule to take advantage of the light nights. At that level, one thing it does highlight - the extra importance of "hitting the ground running". No time to allow a team to gel...

Re: Fancy our chances...?

I remain confident that if we stick to our prudent financial guns then the landscape will change and there will be more set-ups like our own, and clubs like Gateshead who spend beyond their means will have to also cut their cloth accordingly. havent they already had to? - new owners or a massive bu...

Re: Raj Singh Takeover

Hartlepool Council must be a soft touch - this is the second time they have bailed out HUFC in a few months. They must be expecting some income from transfer fees, but will this be the proceeds from a fire-sale at knockdown prices? . No - the council appear to be getting some staggered payments due...

very interesting - not many who've played at his level would be prepared to muck in like that. Also interested in his reluctance to sign players who have particularly physical jobs?

To get 3 players on this, is against the odds. Re: Three players sign for the V9 Academy

for anyone who hasnt seen it,watched the last series on Sky - it wasnt bad. There was an element of that type of "X Factor" t.v. about it, but suppose that was to be expected - the lads train for a week , then split into three squads and play a couple of games in front of the scouts. Its linked toge...
