Re: Simply not good enough

I am starting to think that AA is beginning to show signs of the same frustrations he had at Blyth regarding budget constraints in his pursuit of a striker. Hopefully, we can get out of this rut sooner rather than later!

Re: Darlington V Telford

Tale of two halves, 2nd half sounded like one way traffic and exactly why we lack options and especially in the final third. Very disappointing!

Re: Woolnough

I know that he has had a lot to do with bringing in Holness, Bascome and Donowa and also he has 'invested' money and time into the club. For this the club should be, and I'm sure they are, grateful for. However, it is for AA to manage the playing side of things and at the moment he has been doing a ...

Re: FA Trophy 1st Rnd Proper - options

Altrincham seem to have a hoodoo over York City, knocked them out of the FA Cup and Trophy both times 1-0 away from home too. Also not many North East teams are left in it looking at the results from yesterday. So hopefully a lower league opposition at home and the draw is live on TalkSport2 at 1245...

Re: Darlington V Walsall Match Thread

The main thing the club and management need to do from this point is carry on the momentum. It was lost after the first season in the NLN and Gray's departure and stagnated during Wright's reign. A new manager in Armstrong who has a set way, a clearer tactical plan and the luck of a decent cup run (...

Although naturally I want us to win on Wednesday I hope we also take Saturdays game against Gainsborough trinity just has seriously after all we have an outside chance of winning the fa trophy we have no chance of winning the fa cup. Plus the prize money on offer, although not as rewarding, can sti...

I see you've rubbed someone up the wrong way over on their board, namely geordiesaddler. Trying to explain our demise and resurrection is clearly beyond some people from other clubs, surprisingly a large number from this neck of the woods!

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

Reading their message board they really are not looking forward to the replay, nor fancy the trip up. So it's imperative we make Blackwell as intimidating as we can, which has been a task in it's self for most of the time we have played there. So long as they continue with their poor form we have a ...

Re: Walsall V Darlington FA Cup First Round Proper

Looking at the results from yesterday we were the only team that came close to pulling off a shock in the cup. Dependent on results today I fully expect us to be the televised replay, not sure which show them bbc or bt. Now to sell out Blackwell Meadows, when do the tickets go on sale? Stourbridge ...

Re: Darlington V Kidderminster

Hard fought win tonight. We missed a couple of chances before we scored. I’ve no idea how the goal was allowed because although their defenders head was slightly down, O’Neills foot was high and he kicked him in the nose which resulted in him being substituted. Bit of luck for once for us, but I wo...

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

One further thought, however, is that being as this hasn't got such a big game feel may help with being able to refocus the team's attention back to improving our league position. You often see a team, finding that they are getting too caught up in the glories of the cup, end up losing their league...

Re: FA Cup draw - Darlo Away to Walsall

I don't know, I think this has 'giant killing' potential. They've not been pulling up any trees in League 2 and we can go there as underdogs with nothing to lose. It's a shame we've been drawn away from home yet again, but we have decent away form - let's go there and make it 4 from 4! Lol

Not too sure I fancy the Tamworth draw as they seemed pretty decent against Hereford tonight, in fact I'd have fancied our chances more vs Hereford. Tamworth seem like a team and with confidence a level below us.

It's a shame as I don't think he has been given a fair crack this time around, although the St Mirren stint may have had more of a negative effect on his ability than we thought.

As for freeing up funds for a striker, well it does refer to this in the article.

Horrible news for both clubs if the worst is confirmed. The only light to be taken from it is that in these situations the football club will go back to where it belongs the fans. They will have their chance to start again and build something positive in their communities. On a slightly different n...

Went with my 4 year old son today for the first time since the Leamington game at the end of last season. You can't fault the effort but it seemed to me that we were very much ponderous and lacked any ideas to break down a very stubborn and disciplined Bradford PA side. We had a few half chances in ...
