Re: Sports village

Fact remains that currently, as alluded to many times by DJ, we are not putting any further money into BM when the relationship isn't beneficial to the football club. DJ has also stated that, ideally, we need our own facility that wholly benefits the club. On the face of it, therefore, BM is not a v...

Re: Next season’s captain

People have some very selective memories of Styche. The lad bagged consistently in a relegation threatened team and was a key reason why we stayed up. He then became the scapegoat for a poor start to the following season, where Tommy assembled a hump side. In a better side he would have been an unde...

Re: New deal for Donawa, Hatfield, Rivers, Holmes, Hedley, Reid, Storey , Campbell, Laing, Wheatley, Liddle, Watson,

When Ty & Campbell played in the same side Campbell tended to be out on the left or right. My recollection was we had two up top when we had O'Neill. Campbell would generally play off him but don't remember him being played wide specifically - at Trafford in particular he was mostly central and was...

I wonder how far off the lad is from full fitness. Did AA say it could be March time or have I made that up?

It will be interesting to see if he's going to be back involved with all the Love Island stuff that will come his way in the near future.

433 for me too. Wouldn't mind seeing Martin given a go in the O'Neill role and Omar back in for Reid. The midfield, in my view, has been at its best with Hatfield, Wheatley and Omar. Would be nice to give Martin a go, in a system that worked for us previously, and see if he could bring Campbell and ...

Apparently Styche has left today "by mutual consent" Gone to Bromsgrove Sporting in the league below before any of our fans start to get nostalgic. Not nostalgic at all for Styche. A bit of a bad penny by the look of it with a massive ego. The exact opposite of the players we currently have. Agree ...

The playing surface has been dire recently. It looks better than it actually plays and certainly doesn't compliment the way we want to play the game.

Not that there's anything the club can probably do to rectify the issue, with reluctant landlords putting the bare minimum into its upkeep.

Don't see any reason why Trotman would want to leave at the end of the season.Even if he gets his degree, he can still forge a very successful career as a FT pro footballer and commit to another season with us and put himself in the shop window as others have.Far too talented to call it a day. The lad in the white hoodie, contrary to polar bear's comments, was entirely blameless for the collapse of the fence. As per Beatroute's post, he had complained to the stewards about the state of the fencing prior to the collapse. If leaning on a fence makes it sag, it is clear the installation is w...

Got to agree with Darlo Pete about the 2 turnstiles. That was another amateurish thing. Didn't believe that if there was only 863 of our fans, that there was around 1400 spenny fans. An EXTRA 600ish fans...not for me. But they were never going to say over the 900 were they. We have to take some res...

Re: Spennymoor Away

Completely farcical set up. To announce the day before the fixture that we would be given one side of the ground, with a capacity of 900, but not make it all ticket is ludicrous. Entering the ground through effectively one turnstile should have been a warning for the farce to follow. The decision to...

Re: Leamington (A)

We need a nasty, hard, horrible centre half who can organise and a nasty, hard, horrible , massive centre forward who can bully people, hold the ball up and score goals. Reece Styche would score a hatful in this team. That’s the sort of striker we would ideally need. Put themselves about a bit and ...

Re: Leamington (A)

I think we need to change the system again. 433 has been brilliant, but we now look toothless since Tyrone left. We are unable to bring Campbell and company into the game as the ball isn't sticking up front. We are wasting Thompson. I agree with AA that Donowa is better running onto the ball, but gi...

Re: Darlington v Gainsborough Trinity FA Trophy

Definitely have to agree that Donowa deserves a chance to start, in the near future. We are playing excellent football and barring Brackley, look defensively solid. However, we are struggling to score goals and Donowa, although still very raw, has done enough to be pushing for a start.

Honestly, there's no reason we couldn't cause an upset and beat Pools. Even just setting the finances aside, I want the game to happen. If we can't have them, then yeah, home draws against lower league sides as far as we can go. Sides from our level are frequently competitive in the competition, th...

We were a Tyrone O'Neill/striker short of an upset. Matched them all game and despite their additional possession in the 2nd half, didn't trouble us except the goal. Magic of the cup and all that. Oh for an extra terrace to lift the capacity. I think the capacity is 3,000 for this game. Read figures on twitter somewhere. Walsall got 300, and about 2,700 went on sale to our fans. The ground can't adequately fit 3,000 viewing spectators, there are going to be som...

My only real criticism from Saturday was leaving Campbell on the left hand side and playing Donowa through the middle, when he made the substitution. Thought he could have shifted Campbell up top.

However, on another day we would have scored a few.

Who gave the figures ,it depends on who that person was as to the truth of the actual amount supposedly.
We know to our cost what that owner can and will inevitably do , pools were well warned of this.
Hignett supplied the figures in the Hartlepool Mail.
