Re: Gateshead - ineligible for playoffs
Wonder if this will.be the first of many. This 10 year rule may have to be changed if other councils declare something similar. Also would open the floodgates for more rogue owners to rock up at clubs claiming to take them to the promised land only to sit and wait for the council to say they can no ...

Re: So who do you want to be relegated Blyth or Farsley>
Rushall will not complete the required improvements in 17 days. Their hope is to get a bit of the work done and pull on the heart strings of the FA to give them an unprecedented extension to an extension. That should not happen as it will set too much of a precedent. I'm not too fussed about the ext...

Re: Darlington V Southport
The mathematical anomaly is due to the fact that 3 teams are so far adrift, particularly Bishops Stortford. Normally the points are shared around more, so it's skewing the norms.

I thought they were quite a decent side too. Connor Woods is their record signing. They looked dangerous and had we been off our game we would have lost.

Re: Easter Monday at Warrington Town
Blyth have Rushall at home then 2 stinkers. If one team had to win, would now rather it was Rushall, although a draw would be great.
Good chance Chester will have nothing to play for on the last day.

Normal capacity is 1900. Capacity temporarily reduced to 1400 for the works. Agreed, though, that you'd have to build something massive to get it to 3000.

We said exactly the same thing yesterday. If they get special dispensation and started tomorrow, it looks a real squeeze to get all that work done in less than 6 weeks.

Re: Darlington V Peterborough Sports
Next week reminds me of our game v Colchester in 89. Not win or bust, but certainly not lose. I say that because Bishops Stortford is one of their games in hand. 89 was roles reversed, as we were on an OK run, but Colchester was on a great run, and we crumbled under the pressure of the occasion. Win...

Re: The Bottom Ten, Saturday Mar 16th 2024
The Rushall v Goliath approach is a dangerous game to play, as we found to our cost. I wonder if subconsciously it gives a team an excuse to lose, rather than being a motivating factor.
I don't believe TM and SW have once mentioned finances of other teams. Instead they talk purely on football terms.

I think a lot more leeway is granted now. David Johnston said this after a conversation with Mark Ives, chairman of the National League, who said it wouldn't be a good look if teams were penalised while the financial dip is on. Same happened with Peterborough Sports, who didn't finish the work by Ma...

Re: Darlington v Banbury 2/03/24
I'm going to stick my head above the parapet and say we need 53 points. Southport have the best fixtures, and Bishops Stortford at home. I think Rushall do too. Banbury have 2 games in hand, Rushall one. Despite 3 wins in a row, we're still playing catch up, with 2 stinking fixtures to come. I think...

Some recent quotes by Steve Watson 'Buxton had 2 six foot centre halves so rather than pumping hign balls in we had to fizz them across'. 'We needed to be comfortable with letting Curzon have the ball because they're a posession team'. 'With the players we have we need to pull the opposition players...

I had the same injury after a fall. The only thing you can't do is turn your wrist. The hospital put me in a cast. 3 days later I visited the fracture clinic where the consultant cut the cast off and said that the best thing to do is get it moving again, and that if it's sore then just rest it in a ...

2 points.
1. The unrelated groin injury could be an over-compensation injury caused by the other long-standing groin problem.
2. I'd rather people were bishop bashing when he scores loads of goals.

I thought Rushall won 3-2, then went back to check knowing that you probably won't get that wrong, and it was a Flashscores error, so you've cheered me up no end.

Good luck to the Scarborough fans on the rain-soaked grassy knoll today... it's gonna be grim! I pity them, hope they are well prepared. However, we would have got a right soaking if it had rained on Tuesday, and they had the option of giving us some covered terracing and didn’t. Apart from the big...
