Re: Chester game....

Perhaps a match too far for a number of them. A bit unfortunate that we had such a tough game again after Tuesday night. A number were playing with knocks and niggles. By all accounts if a couple recover as expected then apart from the 2 long term injuries we'll only have Lidds out for a couple more...

Re: Chester game....

AA himself admits that he tries things and sometimes gets them wrong but I'm sure he'll know and will have thought about it. Like at Spenny, where some fans were saying we should have settled for a point. AA in his post-match interview said that he was agonising over it himself but decided not to.

There's an update to this. He's actually in intensive care with a fractured skull and it's very touch and go. Not sure why the first reports were that he hadn't survived. So fingers crossed that he pulls through.

When you do your match blog Rio you'll probably be happier than you were at Blackwell Meadows due to our foul record at the Deva Stadium.

Re: Trotman joins villa

Agree article is way over the top.
Some fans asked the entirely appropriate question as to whether this will affect his rehab, and the club have responded with a comprehensive answer, so really nothing to see here, and good publicity for the club.

Given all our injuries it's a miracle. We now have our entire first choice back 4 out. Given that and our next few weeks I don't expect us to stay there, but the pressure's off us anyway.

Some people on the Tin Shed really don't get social media and are posting some 'I heard this and I heard that' rumours, with some potentially very defamatory stuff being posted. I honestly don't think some of them can differentiate between gossiping in the pub and putting it out there for people to ...

Re: Gary Martin

Darlo CR said it himself as well. There needs to be a 'Dramatic reversal' as he said. The problem is that the terms agreed in the first place weren't particularly favourable to us and so to be fair the rugby club would have to move a lot in our direction.

Re: Gary Martin

Maybe I wasn't clear enough Spyman. What I find is sad is that the rugby club is unwilling to budge.
EdJohns, I think we can access grants 5 years after the last lot, so not next year but the year after.

Re: Gary Martin

If we were to be promoted this season the only option would be the arena, it's as simple as that. Unless the rugby club have a miraculous reversal on their current terms, DJ doesn't want to invest anymore money in the place. I've heard that DJ has been trying to renegotiate terms with the rugby clu...

Re: Gary Martin

If we were to go up then we'd have to start fundraising in the summer. The time it would take to do everything to get the ground up to scratch would mean we wouldn't have the luxury of waiting to see. All improvements have to be signed off by the 31st March. In reality you'd need your ground grading...

Ron, I guess all mangers have their favourites. They then repaid him by missing training of course. Liam Hughes then followed Tommy to Stratford, who he took from a play-off place last year to relegation candidates.
He's now at Melton Mowbray managing Mansfield's U23s.

Talking of strikers, I bet Reece Styche was less than impressed by manager Russell Slade's comments after they lost 2-0 at the weekend when he said "Our problem is our lack of a 12-15 goal a season striker. We really need one". Fans don't like him much either. Worse than that, they now boo him when...

2 points Pete.
1. No time to practise corners over Xmas - game after game, although they have been awful. Can't beat the first man.
2. Elliott could get injured on the loo.

Re: Spennymoor Away

Just seen the highlights. Man, did we miss some chances! Spenny scored with their 1 on 1s, we didn't. That was a bad miss by Adam Campbell. He scores some good goals, but misses some easy ones too. And what was Elliott doing for their first goal! If he'd stayed back, there were covering defenders.

Re: Spennymoor Away

Tezza you're quite right about the crush barriers. I read that too in the guide. If there is no crush barrier, just perimeter fencing, then the safe capacity should be significantly reduced. And also, if the perimeter fencing fails a load bearing test, which it surely will, then the capacity should ...
