We had a player by the name of Ricardo Costa for a while too, scored at the tin shed end one game. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ricardo_Costa_(footballer,_born_1973) 5-1 v Mansfield. I was at that game. Weren't they winning and then Iysenden Christie decided to lamp our keeper and get sent off and...

Pallister should have done. Will never forget his free header miss from a corner in 1988 away to Hungary.

Scored a worldy last night a mate of mine is a runcorn linnets fan said souza had a great first half but marked out the game second half
Which for us would mean leaving space spare for a rampant Wheatley/Holness/Hatfield to exploit.

Re: Support package announced

Curzon is a different kettle of fish, as I suspect may be the case with some other clubs. The great majority of their revenue is coming from hiring their hospitality, which they are not making as much on at the moment. The grant may not just be made up of gate receipts, but other earnings on top. Pe...

Re: Erico Sousa

Good if true. The reality is that this year with the season being shoehorned in that you need a bigger squad, especially initially. If we wait until the busy period is over then we could be out of contention. Good to see AA addressing this. It seems to get tougher every year with more and more proje...

Re: Holness returns

We did offer a deal to Omar but he wanted to keep his options open. I must admit that I was a little surprised when he chose to take a gamble especially under these uncertain times. I think he's a good attacking midfield option and is more of a specialist than other players such as as Reid. Atkinson...

Bury Town is Bury St Edmunds. Under normal circumstances would be a good away draw if you couple it with a visit to the Greene King brewery.

Re: Darlington V Tadcaster Albion FA Cup

The question now is whether they revert back to original boundaries in the 4th QR as the matches are taking place on a weekend. I never twigged that it would be due to a round being played midweek, but this makes perfect sense as an explanation. Am going to Google to see if the numbers have been all...

Re: Darlington V Tadcaster Albion FA Cup

Apologies if I missed an announcement at the start of this years' FA Cup, but quite a few of the midlands teams who were in the northern half of the draw last year seem to now be in the southern half. Have the geographical boundaries been redrawn for 1 year to restrict travelling due to COVID?

Re: Darlington V Tadcaster Albion FA Cup

Just one sobering thought from tonight. No less than 3 of our fellow NLN teams have had to withdraw from the FA Cup due to Covid positive tests within the squad. Boston, Kettering and Alfreton. Could happen to any club at any time and makes it a bit of a lottery.

The comments from the Kiddie fans on the streaming were along the lines of "near perfection". When you read through fans' experiences with other clubs efforts you see things like "frequent buffering", "cutting out all the time", "waste of money", "never again" and even filmed on a shaky camera thro...

Re: Kidderminster Saturday October 10th

This season more than any other should highlight the differences between full and part time teams in terms of pre-season preparation and playing 2 games per week. After October it usually settles down, but this season it won't. Couple that with the fact that some of our squad, particularly Hedley, a...

Re: Kidderminster Saturday October 10th

Remember something that AA said last year when we had a lot of injuries around October/November, that we'd been so unlucky that the lads started feeling a bit sorry for themselves and that maybe played within themselves as they knew that there would be no-one on the bench who could provide a spark. ...

To echo what Super Les said, a certain Harvey Saunders when he was younger could be accused of running a lot with little end product. With an excellent attitude, look where he is now.

Re: Fylde Tuesday night

So why after “fence-gate” did you post on Facebook saying: “Darlington, twinned with Liverpool”? To many that comes across as a Hillsborough reference. And your silence on the “Munich’s” comment speaks volumes. A fence coming down could just as easily be a reference to Heysel, which would be just a...

On another note, Peterborough Sports v Banbury Utd is a nice reunion of Jordan Nicholson v Alex Henshall

Re: Fylde Tuesday night

Nothing to do with Fylde and their attitude to stuff tbh and everything to do with the fact that we know that streaming is £7.99 per household per game. Whereas the average revenue per household per game would probably be in the region of £12 - £16. Appreciate we have some government funding now bu...
