Fly in ointment time. For those suggesting that the pitch should be moved westwards, you have remembered that rugby pitches are longer than football pitches http://laws.worldrugby.org/?law=1&language=en Rugby club will need to be content that their first team pitch would fit before anything else cou...

Re: One More Point !

Anyone else remember the Scottish Premier League in 1986 ? The media were saying how Hearts had won their first title for mega-years. After all, with 1 game to go Hearts would have to lose & Celtic would have to win & there would have to be a 7 goal swing from Hearts to Celtic. Guess what, Hearts l...

Re: Jenny Chapman tweet this afternoon

There's been a lot of patient, careful dialogue between the parties, so I presume the tweet reflects a confidence that all the major building blocks for the ground share are in place. Wouldn't have risked jinxing it and getting egg on my face personally though. When the legal paperwork is signed wil...

Darlo shirts at reduced prices!

Some fab offers there. My son tried to use the on-line shop to buy a shirt the other day. Kept getting an "invalid shipping address" message. Thinking he was just being a numpty , I logged in my details and hit the same brick wall. He gave up and ended up buying another club's sale offer. Any clues ...

You know me too well. Darlington RFC play in a different variation of black and white hoops, and so should the BM move come off, there will be a nice synergy between kits.

Don't like the sash but prefer the hoops, Darlobhoy ? Subtle show of allegiance perhaps !!

I'm with you though, mate... I'll be voting for the hoops

Unless there's a significant shift in position from DRFC then we definitely need a plan B, and possibly a plan C.

Re: Any news players/stadium developments!!

The most worrying delay is around the works to the pitch itself as they can only happen during the close season for the respective sports, and during the growing season (for them to establish). Miss this window and we either accept playing on a pitch unsuited to football and the level of hammer it w...

None of the contracts have been out to procurement yet.!

No pitch works have commenced yet.

October at the earliest I reckon, with the rugby club using an alternative pitch for its first XV until then (or playing their away matches)

The Council has been successful in securing £70k from Sport England to expand the existing car park at BM by 250 spaces (see Cabinet report on DBC's website 3rd March 2015). The Council didn't find out until after the General Election (purdah). Quite a few of the conditions on the planning approval ...

Love Dowson's work rate, but compared to Cartman and Armstrong I just don't think he has enough goal threat about him.

I've wondered for some time what he'd be like in midfield. Has he played there for us?
