Update Required?

What police costs? We rarely have them in full grounds *with* away fans. So that's 0 for starters. Stewarding - how many stewards do you need for 300? Not many at all. How many are volunteers anyway? Security - will need to be present anyway for behind closed doors. How much do we operate with in n...

Re: Update Required?

Too many fans look greedily at the Premier League’s money, when one of the upshots of this crisis should be that ALL league clubs get their house in order financially to be better prepared in future. Don't know if that will happen just expect this to forever be viewed as an exceptional event. I am ...

Re: Update Required?

How? Our stewards and turnstile operators are volunteers. You can’t run hospitality anyway. 300 is better than 0. For the 300 who can go, for the players, and for the fans watching a stream. Very few stewards these days are volunteers. Probably even less so during Covid when you factor in those tha...

Re: Update Required?

I would say the government is quite wrong in passing 100% of the buck to the Premier League but the Premier League can afford to pay some of the costs and should. As for whether the Government should be paying towards keeping football going when no-one can actually see it, it seems completely point...

Re: Update Required?

Perhaps fans who live in Darlington would do well to write to Peter Gibson MP and remind him of his party’s election manifesto pledge to set up a £150M community assets fund to help set up community assets and fan led review of football governance which they have quietly forgotten about. The govern...

FA cup game to be played at BM

I’m genuinely surprised this is allowed? We must’ve asked the FA if it was ok I suppose, but I thought there are some pretty stringent rules with using more than one stadium. Perhaps it being the cup makes a difference. If the stadium isn’t ready, we can’t play there. Simple as that. Not much diffe...

I don’t understand what Darlo_Rob is after. There’s been plenty of stuff put out by the club in the past fortnight. To say there’s been nothing is just incorrect. Anything else we either already know (squad details) or there’s no update on (financial support, streaming etc). I’m genuinely interested...

Re: FA Cup Draw

I simply don't see how we can even contemplate playing a cup game when there is no way we can play league games if no fans are allowed. If we are saying contracts don't start until the league does we have no players to play the game for a start. No. Could you clarify what the "No" is aimed at pleas...

SEASON POSTPONED?

Looks like no fans allowed, and our league says with no fans, no games! Its depressing isn't it? It is also worrying for clubs in general and their ability to survive. What is even worse is having to spend Saturday's with out an excuse to get away from the missus I suppose you can always stay at ho...

Re: Macclesfield Town

Olly Baylis is reporting that the NL resolution states that the top division should have 24 clubs which could mean Ebsfleet could be reprieved. This would leave the south division with only 20 clubs whereas the north has 22. What a mess! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk But surely we’ve had the L...

Cant believe a ex manager is owed Nearly as much as the tax man. Was he on premier league wages or summat. Enjoyed my visit there when they won the national league. Spendy and Gloucester are exceptional value there. i fancy Gloucester for the league (if it starts) Funny club, Gloucester. Often tipped at the start of the season and yet never seem to live up to their potential. In the 11 consecutive seasons they've spent in the NLN or NLS they've never finished ...

A few things to take away from the Johnston interview: Two-year licence to use the Arena, which is because of the uncertainty over Covid. Talking to DRFC about the academy teams playing at Blackwell. Hope our lads get tested for Covid after playing the Boro boys.
With Storey coming back from Hernia, he had to go into quarantine which explained his absence.
Lovely spot that, but a pain to get to.

I was wondering about that too. Old Git said that he felt Saltmer hadn't commanded his area well enough v Fleetwood, but that's the sort of thing that a highlights package wouldn't pick up. To be specific 8 goals conceded. That’s not specific at all. Not when you look at it in context. How many of those eight goals are you holding him accountable for? Genuine question. Do the defence have any responsibility, in your opinion or were they faultless? For context, We have been playing a f...

Watch "Goals: Fleetwood Town v Darlington" on YouTube

Not sure who the trialist is but having looked them up looks more like Devante Cole than Elton Ngwatala. The lad who played yesterday looks tall and Cole is 6ft 1 whereas Ngwatala is 5ft10. As for Cole being too good for our level a look at his stats hardly backs that up. Has 44 career goals from 2...
